Traditional Irish Herbalist
Sean Boylan is a 5th generation herbalist and an
elder of the Irish herbal tradition. He is a living link
between the ancient and modern tradition and runs
Dunboyne Herbs Ltd in Co Meath. The herbal medicine
tradition in the Boylan family was brought to
Dunboyne by his ancestor,. also called Sean Boylan.
The four remedies traditionally used in the family
were expanded upon by Sean’s father after he was
injured in the War of Independence and given only a
year to live. This prompted him to make a further
study of herbal medicine, which has since been passed
down the generations. Sean is a Fellow of the
Irish Register of Herbalists
